Naseem Hameed received warm welcome at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, who won gold medal in 100 meter running competition of 11th South Asian Games. She returned from Dhaka on Thursday.
She got this rank in just 11.81 seconds. She is poor athlete from the slums of Korangi. In the history of Pakistan only some players was received this amazing welcome.

Naseem said that I didn’t expect this type of biggest warm welcome after my performance but for this I am very thankful to all. This might give her more strength in future.

She was also the part of the 4x100m relay team, which won a bronze medal in the earlier South Asian Games held in Colombo in 2006. She said that after getting sixth position in her event in the 2006 Colombo South Asian Games, pressure mounted on her but she thought if other athletes could achieve distinction in their events through hard work, then why she can’t.

President Mr.Asif Ali Zardari also gave her congratulation on becoming the “woman sprinter of the south asian region”. He also added that Naseem Hameed is a role model for Pakistani Women. Federal Ministry of Sports encourages her with the amount Rs.500, 000. City Nazim Mustafa Kamal also announced her Rs.200, 000 for her courage and brave.
